The process
Make the booking
Fill out our online form or give us a call on 03 981 81 81 to make your booking. You have the option for an in-person consultation with one of our nurses, or to simply complete the booking over the phone. It’s normal to be nervous, and men often really appreciate coming and meeting the team and having their questions answered by one of our friendly male nurses before having the ‘snip’. We also provide pre-procedural medications that relax your muscles and anatomy, and as a bonus they help take the edge off those nerves and make the process nice and cruisy. There is no obligation to complete the procedure if you have second thoughts. Various payment options are available, including WINZ for those eligible.
On the day
Grab a ride into the clinic, then let the team do the rest. After a bit of sterilizing liquid and local anesthesia, the doctor completes the no-scalpel vasectomy using special small instruments that leave just a tiny hole in the skin. That’s it!
After the procedure
Rest! Take the remainder of the day off to watch some movies or read a book. Make sure to wear supportive underwear and avoid heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, and sexual activity for a week. This helps the healing process go smoothly.
Get the all clear
Semen testing is completed at both 2 months and 4 months post procedure. Samples are produced at home then taken to a laboratory for formal analysis to ensure accurate results. These results are reviewed by the doctor before being relayed to you. Make sure you continue using contraception until we give you the all clear, after which you’re good to go.
Support after your procedure
Bruising and discoloration in the scrotum occasionally happens, however this often looks worse than it is. The doctor will advise you of what to expect after the procedure.
If post procedural pain is experienced, try a brief application of an ice pack and taking over the counter pain relief.
